Surf Ski - Major repair

This Surf Ski had cracked down the length of the kayak approximately 3ft long. We offered a fast turnaround repair within a few days of being given the kayak to ensure the paddler could get back out on the water for the nice weather approaching. 

Here is the extend of the fracture.

For this repair we used West System Epoxy Resin to ensure a strong and stiff bond. We were unable to get inside the boat so it had to only be reinforced on one side, making this much trickier. There was an option to put in two hatches in the stern of the kayak to allow for fibergalass application inside, but for this boat this was not an option. 

Here was the final repair before any sanding / polishing was complete.
